FAQ’s – Beauty & Go
What is a Bioactive Beauty Drink?
Bioactive Beauty Drinks are a new category of nutricosmetics, created with the launch of BEAUTY & GO drinks. They are drinks that feed and nourish your skin by supplying the correct amount of bioactive ingredients, like MACRO-antioxidants® needed for your daily skincare, as well as other bioactive ingredients (other antioxidants, minerals and vitamins) and beauty ingredients (hyaluronic acid, collagen) that have a positive effect in your body
What are MACRO-antioxidants®?
MACRO-antioxidants® are powerful, revolutionary macromolecules that form an antioxidant compound, which is bound to dietary fibre. Antioxidants combat damage to the bodies cells that occurs through the process of oxidation.MACRO-antioxidants® have highly significant biological activity; they work in a manner that is different and complementary to traditional antioxidants. Extracted directly from the peel of fruits,MACRO-antioxidants® have proven scientific evidence of their ability to improve the skin’s elasticity, firmness and glow.
MACRO-antioxidants® went undetected by science until, after 15 years of research, the team led by Dr. Fulgencio Saura-Calixto (Research Professor for the Institute of Food, Science, Technology and Nutrition (ICTAN-CSIC)) discovered macromolecules, studied them in-depth and described their powerful effectiveness in several scientific articles. For more information, view Dr. Saura-Calixto’s report here.
Why are MACRO-antioxidants® more effective than other antioxidants?
MACRO-antioxidants® produce an antioxidant state that lasts longer in the body than common antioxidants. They reach the colon almost intact and are absorbed more slowly, about 6-8 hours after intake. This is due to their complex molecular structure and the fact that they are inseparably bound to dietary fibre and are not soluble in water.
This behaviour is different, synergistic and complementary to that of conventional antioxidants, which are absorbed around 2 hours after being ingested. The greatest benefit to a cell’s antioxidant state is achieved by consuming both kinds at the same time. The combination of both, antioxidants andMACRO-antioxidants®, keep the antioxidant status active for longer and, therefore, beneficial effects are maximized.
In addition, given their association with fibre, MACRO-antioxidants® have a prebiotic effect on intestinal flora, as described by the CSIC in scientific literature.
Do the BEAUTY & GO drinks offer any nutrients that you wouldn’t ingest by eating a balanced healthy diet?
BEAUTY & GO helps to achieve a balanced diet enriching it with powerful bioactive ingredients that would be impossible to obtain through diet alone.
The MACRO-antioxidants® included in the formulas are extracted from the peel of the fruits (pomegranate, orange…) that would not normally be ingested in any other way. Another example of a bioactive that is difficult to ingest with diet alone, but is included in the BEAUTY & GO formulations is CoQ10, present in foods such as avocados and sardines; the quantities required for the optimal dose equal 60 avocados and 120 sardines; all of which is supplemented in one drink of SKIN VITALITY.
BEAUTY & GO is not a meal replacement and we recommend that our bioactive beauty drinks be included as part of a varied, balanced and healthy diet.
What does ‘bioactive’ mean?
A bioactive compound is a compound that has an effect on a living organism, tissue /cell. Bioactive compounds have actions in the body that may promote good health. The entire range of BEAUTY & GO drinks contain a high concentration of bioactives that are beneficial to health, such as: MACRO-antioxidants®, antioxidants (hydroxytyrosol, punicalagins, resveratrol, etc.), vitamins and minerals; their benefits in keeping skin normal and healthy have been proven and approved by the EFSA.
What are the primary cosmetic ingredients in BEAUTY & GO and what benefits do they provide?
Collagen peptides: An exogenous dose of collagen peptides helps counteract the loss of skin elasticity (Proksch et al, 2014; Werschler, 2012).
Hyaluronic Acid: Hyaluronic acid stimulates cellular division, which contributes to skin regeneration (Tran et al, 2014, Greco et al, 1998;).
Spirulina Algae: Algae possess remarkable toning, anti-seborrheic, draining and softening properties that regenerate cells (Alcalde, 2004)
Resveratrol-enriched grape seed extract: The powerful antioxidant in grapes helps counteract the damaging effects of free radicals, preventing cellular ageing (Ndiaye et al, 2011; Baxter, 2008)
Chamomile Extract: Chamomile contains α-bisabolol, which has anti-inflammatory and relaxing properties. (Lee et al, 2010; Hoon Park et al, 2010; Kamatou & Viljoen, 2010; Kadir & Barry, 1991)
Catechin-enriched tea extract: Green tea contributes to rejuvenating epithelial cells that are at the end of their life cycle (Hsu, 2003).
Aloe Vera: Contains anti-inflammatory and healing properties (Hutter et al, 1996), and also stimulates collagen synthesis (Kucukcelebi et al, 1994). In addition, it also stimulates elastin synthesis, allowing aloe vera to help keep skin younger and firmer (Surjushe et al, 2008; West et al. 2003).
Where does the collagen in the BEAUTY & GO drinks come from?
The bioactive collagen peptides are 100% natural, extracted carefully from bovine source, in order to have the needed characteristics of shape and size to be efficient.
How does the collagen reach the face to have a beauty effect when ingested?
Collagen is formed by peptides which, after intake, are absorbed to stimulate the body’s own natural collagen production in skin.
What concentration of vitamins and minerals does BEAUTY & GO provide?
The recommended daily amount of vitamins and minerals for human consumption has been designed and stipulated by European legislation and the EFSA. These guidelines were followed during the development of Beauty & Go. A few examples are:

Beauty & Go’s formula has been carefully designed by both the AMC Innova food and nutrition technology scientists and the expert skin care technicians at NATURA BISSÉ, to provide the optimum levels of vitamins and/or minerals for normal skin care and the body’s health. BEAUTY & GO therefore becomes an effective supplement to getting the recommended daily amounts of vitamins and minerals, and its functionality has been scientifically proven by the EFSA. You can find the exact amounts of vitamins and minerals on the BEAUTY & GO label.

It works closely with national authorities, providing scientific evidence and clear communication of the risks posed by any new product reaching the market.
What is the CSIC?
It is the National Spanish Research Council (CSIC). The CSIC is the largest public institution in Spain devoted to research. Its primary purpose is to develop and promote research to benefit scientific and technological advances. The CSIC’s Knowledge and Technology Transfer Agency allows the results of the CSIC research to be transferred or licensed to any individual or corporation interested in them, thereby providing greater application for the findings of its researchers. www.csic.es
